Nepal Telecommunication Company Limited (Nepal Telecom) has provided free telephone, SMS and internet services to the residents of the flood-affected areas in Bhotekoshi. Minister of Information and Communication Dr. Vikram Timilsina directed to immediately provide free telephone and internet facilities to the residents of flood affected areas. Nepal Telecom spokesperson Kamal Lamichhane informed that Nepal Telecom will provide unlimited voice service for two days, two GB data and 50 SMS per day for free to the residents of that area.
Today, Telecom is constantly informing the flood-affected areas and nearby customers to be careful through SMS. According to Nepal Telecom, preliminary information has been received that seven towers including two in Rasuwa and five in Nuwakot have been damaged due to flood. The team of Nepal Telecom has been deployed in the affected area for the maintenance of tower and service infrastructure.
