The party office of CPN-UML has to be removed from Chasal in Lalitpur. After the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation issued a notice to vacate the occupied land and the structures built on it, the area where the UML party office is located has to be vacated. UML had been using the land in the name of Tulsi Lal Amatya Memorial Foundation. In March 2058, by the decision of the Council of Ministers, 12 ropani, 6 annas, 5 paisa, and 3 daams of land were provided to the institution for occupation. However, it is said that the said land has not been formally converted into a 'lease'.
The Ministry has started the process of vacating the occupied land, saying that it should be managed according to legal procedures. Along with this, the building at Chasal, which has been used as the central party office of UML for a long time, has to be removed. Lately, the government has started to be strict about the management of structures and offices built on government land. The issue of vacating the UML office in Chasal is also considered as part of the same process.
Earlier, the party office of UML was operating from different locations. Lately, the building of Tulsi Lal Amatya Memorial Institute in Chaisal was being used as a party office. After the notification of the Ministry of Lands, it is now seen that UML has to find an alternative location for its party office.
