Prime Minister Balen will not address the Republic Day, the President will.

Prime Minister Balen Shah will not address the main ceremony of this year's Republic Day. Prime Minister Shah has informed the President's office that he will not address the ceremony. Every year on the occasion of Republic Day, a special ceremony is organized at Sainik Manch Tundikhel. It is a tradition that the President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker, Speaker of the National Assembly and other high-ranking people participate in the ceremony. In the past, it was the practice for the Prime Minister to address the original ceremony.

However, this time, Prime Minister Shah has requested the President to deliver an address at the Republic Day ceremony. According to sources, as per the decision of the Council of Ministers, as the President will be the symbol of the Republic, a letter has been sent to the President's Office with a request that the President address the ceremony. Shah, who has been rarely seen in public functions since becoming the prime minister, will not even address the main ceremony of the Republic Day. In a letter sent from the Prime Minister's Office to the President's Office, it is said that the President has been requested to address the main ceremony on the occasion of Republic Day.

Article 66 of the Constitution provides for the work, duties and powers of the President. According to sub-section 2 of the said article, there is provision for the President to act on the recommendation and consent of the Council of Ministers. Based on the same constitutional arrangement, preparations have been made to address the main ceremony of the Republic Day this year by the President.
