The Chinese government has handed over the cash aid announced for the flood victims of Nepal. Minister of Finance Dr. at the Ministry of Finance on Sunday. After meeting Swarnim Wagle, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming handed over a check of nearly 300 million Nepalese rupees (2 million US dollars) to the finance minister. Likewise, Ambassador Maoming also handed over cash equivalent to 36 million rupees (2 million US dollars) provided by the Chinese Red Cross. Handing over the relief funds, Ambassador Maoming said that both Nepal and China will face the calamity suffered by Nepal and China together. The Chinese President and Prime Minister have sent a message to the Nepalese government that China is always with Nepal in the calamity. Ambassador Maoming said that only today, two Chinese ships landed in Kathmandu with 50 tons of relief materials such as tents, blankets, sleeping bags, medical kits and biscuits. He also said that more support will be provided continuously.
He also informed the finance minister that efforts are being made to bring back Nepali Nepalese people who were stopped on their way to China due to the floods in Rasuwa through Mustang's Corolla border. Likewise, Ambassador Maoming informed that skilled manpower with Chinese helicopters arrived in Nepal yesterday to rescue those trapped in the hydroelectric company's tunnel. He also informed the finance minister that the Chinese government is working at a fast pace to bring a drone that can carry a large amount of goods to Nepal as requested by the Nepalese government for rescue.
On behalf of the Government of Nepal, the Minister of Finance Dr. Swarnim Wagle thanked the Chinese government for its support to Nepal, which has gone through an unimaginable disaster. On behalf of the government of Nepal, he said that due to the disaster, both countries had to suffer huge human and material losses
expressed deep sorrow. Finance Minister Dr. Wagle paid his respects to the Chinese citizens who lost their lives due to the floods and expressed his deepest condolences to their families. He said that Nepal and China need to work hand in hand to deal with the devastating damage caused by the rising temperature of the world. He also said that he expects great support from China in rebuilding the damage Nepal suffered due to the Saptak flood. Minister of Finance Dr. Swarnim Wagle and the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maomingan paid their respects to the citizens of both countries who lost their lives due to the flood and observed a moment of silence.
