The Election Commission has requested the voters to correct the errors in the voter list and update the details. The commission has announced that it will publish the voter list through its website on October 1 with the aim of making the list more pure, updated and reliable. If the personal details such as name, surname, age, address etc. are found to be different or incorrect in the published list, the concerned voters can apply for correction.
Similarly, if someone is found to have registered the name based on wrong details, if the name of the same voter is included in more than one place or if any other error is noticed, the commission can be informed about it. According to the commission, voters can complete the necessary process to register the name in only one place when the name is in more than one place.
Voters whose permanent address has changed due to migration or marriage can also update their details as per the new address. How to apply online? An application to correct or update details on the electoral roll can be made through the Election Commission's online system applyvr.election.gov.np. Voters who do not feel comfortable applying online can complete the required process by visiting the relevant election office.
The Commission has stated that the accuracy of the electoral roll is directly related to the cleanliness, fairness and credibility of the election. Therefore, the Commission has appealed to all the voters for their help in correcting the errors, double names or other wrong details in the list.
