A three-point agreement has been reached between the Government of Nepal and the victim's family regarding the incident of heinous crime committed against the 3-year-old girl Garima Chaudhary of Jitpur Simra sub-metropolitan city-1 of Bara district. In the discussion held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday evening, an agreement was reached between the Minister of Home Affairs Sudhan Gurung, the ministers of the relevant ministries, the parents of the victim girl Garima Choudhary and representatives of the government. According to the agreement, it has been decided to review the provisions of crimes and punishments in the existing laws in accordance with the expectations of the citizens in heinous criminal cases and submit a report with suggestions for drafting laws within seven days. For this, a seven-member 'Dignity Resolution Committee' will be formed by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Similarly, according to the expectations of the victim's family, it has been agreed that the Ministry of Infrastructure Development will coordinate with the local level to build a salik for the girl Garima Chaudhary. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on behalf of the Government of Nepal by Minister of Home Affairs Sudhan Gurung, Minister of Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal, Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sovita Gautam, Minister of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security Sita Badi and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment Gita Chaudhary.
Garima Chaudhary's father Manoj Kumar Chaudhary and mother Manmati Chaudhary have signed the agreement on behalf of the victim's family. The agreement reached between the government and the victim's family has promised to advance the judicial process in the incident and address the demands of the victim's family.
