UML in street protest after President Oli's arrest
The Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has started a demonstration in the federal capital, Kathmandu, against the arrest of party president KP Sharma Oli. While the meeting of the party secretariat at Chasal in Lalitpur is going on, the workers of UML are taking to the streets in Chabhil area of Kathmandu and raising loud slogans. The government arrested President Oli this morning. After the arrest, the leaders of the UML immediately responded by starting a street protest. In this regard, the secretariat meeting is being held to take a formal decision of the party. There is a heavy presence of protesters in Chabhil area and a tense situation has been created in the area for some time.
