Yambaling Hydropower IPO opened today, how many applications?

Yambaling Hydropower Limited has opened the issue and sale of initial shares (IPO) for general investors from 16th Baisakh today. The company has brought a total of 17 lakh 43 thousand shares of ordinary shares to the general public under the second phase. The company got permission from the Nepal Securities Board to issue 2.8 million shares worth 40 percent of the total issued capital of Rs 70 crore. Out of this, 700,000 shares have been allocated for project-affected local residents, 210,000 shares for Nepalese working abroad, 150,000 shares for collective investment funds and 42,000 shares for company employees.

Now the remaining 17 lakh 43 thousand shares have been opened for sale to general investors from today. Investors can apply for a minimum of 10 shares and a maximum of 21,000 shares. Applications for this IPO can be made till banking hours on 22nd Baisakh. The company has also stated that if the complete application is not received by that period, the issuance period may be extended. Muktinath Capital Limited is responsible for issuing and selling. Eligible investors can apply through all ASBA member banks and financial institutions approved by the Nepal Securities Board, their branch offices and through the 'My Share' online system.

The Nepal Securities Board granted permission for the IPO issue to the company on February 17. The 7.271 MW Yambaling Khola hydropower project built by the company in Sindhupalchok district has been put into commercial production since 8th February 2080. As the project is in operation in the energy sector, the fact that the production of the company has already started is considered an important aspect for investors. Now with the opening of share issue to the public, common citizens have got the opportunity to directly invest in new companies in the energy sector.
