US dollar steady, euro and pound still expensive

Kathmandu, May 17. According to the foreign currency exchange rate published by the Nepal Rastra Bank for Sunday, the value of the US dollar has remained stable. The dollar exchange rate, which has been on a downward trend in recent days, remained at the same level as on Saturday, and the buying rate of one American dollar was fixed at 151 rupees 71 paisa and the selling rate was fixed at 152 rupees 31 paisa. While the dollar remains stable, European and British currencies remain strong. According to Rashtra Bank, the buying rate of one euro has been fixed at 176 rupees 64 paisa and the selling rate has been fixed at 177 rupees 34 paisa. Likewise, the buying rate of one British pound sterling has reached 203 rupees 59 paise and the selling rate has reached 204 rupees 39 paise.
In other major currencies, the buying rate of Swiss franc is fixed at 193 rupees 83 paise, Australian dollar at 108 rupees 64 paise, Canadian dollar at 109 rupees 84 paise and Singapore dollar at 118 rupees 76 paise. The National Bank has also published the exchange rates of Saudi Riyal, Qatari Riyal, UAE Dirham and Kuwaiti Dinar, which are considered important for Nepalis working in Gulf countries. The Kuwaiti dinar remained the most expensive foreign currency with its buying rate reaching Rs 494 65 paise.
According to the National Bank, the exchange rate can be revised at any time. Also, since the rate determined by commercial banks may vary, it is requested to visit the website of the concerned bank or Rashtra Bank for updated information.
