Two tractors involved in illegal stone quarrying seized, fine levied

Earlier, on the 14th of last year, a news was published in the News Factory under the title "Daily hundreds of tractors of gravel-sand transport in the setting of Lalbakaiya Exploitation and Police-People's Representative". After the news was published in different media through the news agency, the action was taken under the direction of Madhesh police chief DIG Gobind Thapalia and Rautahat police chief SP Sitaram Rizal.

According to local residents, illegal mining has been going on for a long time in Lalbakaiya river under Fatwa Vijaypur and Gujra city. Even though there is no tender, the locals have alleged that river materials are being extracted and transported by hundreds of tractors every day.   Illegal activities have not been stopped even though the municipalities have not started the tender process of river mining for the financial year 2082-083.   According to local sources, tractors are being operated uninterruptedly from morning to evening from various ghats. Locals have also alleged collusion with security personnel at some places.

Meanwhile, the Bagmati river area is also at risk due to illegal mining, and the locals have demanded immediate control. They say that bridges and road structures are at risk due to tippers carrying heavy loads. Similarly, Madhesh Police Chief DIG Gobind Thapalia and Armed Police DIG Krishna Dhakal have given strict instructions to subordinate agencies to control illegal mining and transportation. Locals have demanded immediate effective monitoring and strict action.
