The government is giving entrepreneurs up to 10 lakhs without any fees, without interest, how to apply?

Koshi State Government has implemented “Startup Enterprise Seed Capital Mobilization Procedure, 2082” to encourage innovative businesses. According to this procedure, startup enterprises with new ideas, technology and high growth potential will be provided seed capital up to a maximum of 10 lakh rupees. Under this program prepared on the basis of the Provincial Industrial Business Act, 2077 and the Appropriation Act, 2082, there is provision that the amount will be given in two installments. After the agreement, the first installment (20%) will be provided and the remaining amount will be given based on the progress and completion of the work. No interest or service charges will be charged on this seed capital, but a bank guarantee will be mandatory.

Who gets it? Only enterprises operating as private firms, companies or cooperatives registered within Koshi province, less than 10 years old and with an annual turnover of less than 150 million rupees will be considered eligible. Import-based businesses, blacklisted businesses and businesses that have already received government subsidies will remain out of this. How to choose? The evaluation of the enterprise proposal will be based on indicators such as use of technology, innovation, market potential, availability of raw materials, risk management. Only proposals securing minimum 50% marks will be shortlisted.

Opportunity in which area? Priority will be given to startups in various sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, information technology, health, education, infrastructure, waste management etc. It has been arranged to give priority to new enterprises that have not received government support in particular. Responsibilities of the entrepreneur After receiving the seed capital, the entrepreneur has to submit regular progress reports. In addition, there is a provision to assist in the monitoring and if the funds are found to be misused, the contract will be canceled and the funds will be recovered.

How to apply? Interested entrepreneurs have to submit the project proposal to the Ministry or District Home and Small Industries Office in the prescribed format by 15th Baisakh.
