Sudan Kirati is now a senior leader of the Labor Culture Party

Former Maoist leader Sudan Kirati will hold the important position of senior leader in Hark Sampang-led Shram Sanskriti Party. This has been determined by the agreement between the two parties on the distribution of leadership within the party. According to the agreement, the Kirati faction will be represented in the posts of one vice-president, one secretary and 15 central members in addition to the posts of senior party leaders. This consensus is expected to play an important role in internal strengthening of the labor culture within the party.

This important decision was taken after a discussion in Lalitpur between the Chairman of Shram Sanskrit Party Hark Sampang and the leader of the Kirati Party. The formal announcement of this unity and sharing of leadership will be made today at a ceremony in Baghbazar, Kathmandu. This event, which will be held at Hardik Hotel at 3 pm, will formalize the cooperation between the two sides. Sudan Kirati of Bhojpur is an influential ex-Maoist leader who was earlier the tourism minister. He joined the Progressive Democratic Party (Pralopa) expressing disagreement with the Nepal Communist Party, which was formed after the unity between the then CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (UML). Kirati was a member of the Presidium of Pralopa, which was established at the initiative of former Deputy General Secretary of Maoist Janardhan Sharma. However, after the election on February 21, he announced that he would abandon Pralopa.
