Accelerating the structural restructuring process of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), new investment instruments such as intraday, short selling and derivatives are going to be introduced in the market in a phased manner. While presenting the budget for the next fiscal year 2083/84, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle announced this ambitious plan in a joint meeting of Parliament. This step has been taken with the aim of making the capital market more robust, dignified and investment friendly. For this, the finance minister emphasized on enhancing the capacity of the regulatory bodies, developing a technology-friendly trading system and making the investor protection system effective. The launch of new instruments is expected to increase liquidity in the market and provide more opportunities for investors.
