Restrictions on Sriram gas cylinder market, new sale and exchange with conditions

Nepal Oil Corporation has given permission to Sriram Gas Udyog in Dhading to send the gas cylinders stored in Harisidhi godown in Lalitpur to the market with limited conditions. During the joint monitoring with the Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection, after it was found that there were 6,377 cylinders in stock in the warehouse, the Corporation instructed to proceed with the distribution process. According to the corporation, about 6,000 of those 14.2 kg cylinders will be sent to the market through the official dealer of the industry under the supervision of the corporation. It has been arranged that the remaining 377 units will be provided to the consumers from the corporation's office in Teku.
The corporation has given strict instructions to the industry to make the sales process transparent and consumer friendly. There is a clear provision that each cylinder should be checked for weight and sold only at a fixed price. Similarly, the industry has been completely banned from bringing new cylinders to the market and it has been arranged that they cannot be exchanged with cylinders of other companies. A provision has been made to submit daily sales-distribution details to the corporation on a regular basis. According to the corporation, the relevant ministries and departments have also been informed to make the overall process effective.
