Luggage tag is mandatory in the car as in the plane!

The National Federation of Nepal Transport Professionals has issued a circular to its member transport service providers to make tags mandatory for passengers' luggage up to 40 kg. This decision is expected to ensure the safety of passengers' luggage and bring more ease in management. According to the general secretary of the federation, Deknath Gautam, this circular was issued for the implementation of the pre-agreement concluded between the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and the federation. From now on, luggage tokens must be affixed to suitcases, bags or other items weighing up to 40 kg. This arrangement will be applicable to all types of short distance and long distance vehicles.

The circular has further clarified that the name of the booking staff, driver and transport company should be clearly mentioned in this luggage token. This will help to determine the responsibility of the goods and to identify immediately if any problem arises.
