Kathmandu, 17th June. Former Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa has objected to Prime Minister Balendra Shah's statement in the Parliament that 'Nepal has also encroached on Indian territory'. Former Foreign Minister Thapa objected to Prime Minister Shah's 'controversial statement' when he stood on the rostrum for the first time in the House of Representatives meeting and answered the questions raised by the MPs.
While replying in the Parliament, Prime Minister Balendra Shah said that the entire country was shocked and surprised by the statement that Nepal has violated India's border. "If the Prime Minister is confident that Nepal has violated India's border, then you should make it clear to the public with evidence that the mistake should be corrected immediately and the land should be returned to honorable India, but in my opinion, this statement of the Prime Minister is exaggerated and wrong," he further said, "When even India itself has not accused Nepal of violating the border, it is not entirely appropriate for the Prime Minister to make such a statement."
Thapa stated that Nepal will not encroach on the borders of any of its neighbors and cannot tolerate others encroaching on our land. "When there is nationwide debate and concern about India's encroachment of Nepal's undivided land in Limpiyadhura, Kalapani, Lipulekh and Susta regions, the Prime Minister's statement that 'Nepal has also crossed India's border' is completely irresponsible," he said. It is very sad that such a light and objectionable opinion comes from Prime Minister Balen, who is trusted by the country and the people.
