In three microfinance mergers

Three microfinance financial institutions, which are playing an important role in expanding the financial inclusion of the nation, have entered the process of integration. Jeevan Bikas Laguvitta, Unique Nepal Laguvitta and Manushi Laguvitta have entered into a mutual agreement and will proceed jointly. With the signing of the initial memorandum of understanding completed on 28th of Chait, the foundation stone of this historical integration has been laid. The merger process of these three companies, which are already listed in Nepal's secondary market, is expected to start a new chapter in the financial sector. Earlier, on 14th Chaitra, a merger agreement had been reached between Jeevan Bikas Laguvitta and Unique Nepal Laguvitta. By refining the same agreement, an important decision has been taken to include human microfinance in this grand integration.

Prior to the completion of this merger agreement, the relevant authorities have been requested to temporarily suspend the trading of shares of the fundamental shareholders. This process will bring stability until the next General Meetings are held. The merger will further strengthen the geographical presence of these companies, whose central offices are located in different locations. The head office of Jeevan Bikas Microfinance is located at Katahari in Morang, the head office of Unique Nepal Microfinance is at Kohalpur in Banke and the head office of Manushi Microfinance is at Kavrepalanchok.

Financially, the paid-up capital of Jeevan Bikas Microfinance is 1.75 billion, while the paid-up capital of Unique Nepal Microfinance is 148.5 million and the paid-up capital of Manushi Microfinance is 100.93 million. It is believed that this integration will increase the overall capacity of the microfinance sector by leveraging capital.
