Government giving free e-billing software to small businessmen, bill can be deducted from mobile

The government has prepared to provide free e-billing software to businessmen. Through the budget of the next financial year, the government has prepared to build e-billing software itself or purchase the necessary system and let small businessmen use it. At present, there is a provision that businessmen who issue bills must use software prepared by private vendors listed in the Internal Revenue Department. Buying and renewing such software has been putting additional financial burden on small businesses. It is expected that small taxpayers will have to buy expensive billing software after the new system that the government is going to introduce.

It is said that the software developed by the government will be linked with the Central Budget Monitoring System (CBMS). It is believed that the details of the bills deducted by the businessmen will reach the government system safely and it will be easy for the tax administration to monitor. Currently using software made by different vendors, there is no consistency in system, interface, support and updates. In some cases, there is a risk that the details of the bill will be changed, deleted or the correct details will not reach the government system through the software. It is the government's understanding that after the government software comes, such risk will be reduced and it will help in controlling revenue leakage.

Through the new system, it is expected that small businessmen will be able to deduct the VAT bill from the mobile app. It will help businessmen who do not have computers or expensive software to connect to the digital billing system. Businessmen now have to spend 20,000 to 50,000 rupees to buy billing software and also have to pay annual renewal fees. If free government software is available, there will be direct relief especially to small shops, service providers and taxpayers.

The government has been expanding the electronic bill system before. The legal basis for deducting the bill from the computer system was prepared after the issuance of the electronic bill procedure 2074. After that, the Internal Revenue Department started the CBMS system and gradually connected the areas such as big taxpayers, departmental stores, hotels, restaurants, automobile dealers to the electronic billing system. Currently, a system is being implemented to connect taxpayers who have exceeded certain transaction limits to the real-time billing system. Now it seems that the government's attention is focused on connecting even small businesses to a digital billing system that is easy, cheap and of the same format.

If government software is implemented, any changes in tax rates or rules can be updated simultaneously in all users' systems. Also, it is expected that the tax officer will be more comfortable in monitoring, audit and revenue management when there is a single format billing system. It is believed that the implementation of this preparation of the government will reduce the cost of small businesses, increase the scope of digital transactions and make the tax system more transparent.
