The government has decided to make electronic attendance system mandatory for employees in all government offices across the country. The Administration Reform and Management Test Branch under the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration issued a circular on Thursday and gave this instruction to all ministries, departments, offices, agencies and local levels. In the letter sent by the Branch Officer, Pitambar Saru, it has been asked to implement an electronic attendance system to systematically record the attendance of the employees. Where such a system is not yet in place, it is also directed to make necessary arrangements immediately.
According to the new system, the employees will have to report their arrival and departure time electronically. Similarly, every 15 days attendance details should be printed and verified by the concerned authorities and kept in safe records. Earlier, there were complaints like arranging attendance based on access and setting in some offices, and getting salary without coming to the office. With the implementation of the new electronic system, it is expected that such trends will be stopped. The government believes that this step will increase transparency, discipline and accountability in employee attendance.
