Distribution of electric stoves, assistance in construction of dung gas plant

Ichchakamana rural municipality has started an electric stove distribution program with the aim of solving the gas shortage. At the same time, the municipality has also said that it will assist in the construction of an improved Chuhlo and Gobar gas plant. According to Dan Bahadur Gurung, chairman of the rural municipality, the distribution of electric stoves has been started in the first phase and the distribution has started from Monday. Electric stoves will be distributed to Ichchakamana-5 on Chait 2, Ward No. 4 on Chait 3, Ward No. 6 on Chait 4 and Ward No. 3 on Chait 5. The municipality has said that it will distribute Chuhlo according to the demand of local residents. Chairman Gurung said that after the distribution of electric stoves, priority will be given to the construction of improved stoves and cow gas plants.
This program is going to be implemented with the help of Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC). Chairman Gurung informed that after the rural municipality collected the details of the consumers and sent them to AEPC, the electric stoves were received and ready for distribution. 77 percent subsidy has been given on electric stoves. Of this, 58 percent will be borne by AEPC, 20 percent by municipalities and the remaining 22 percent by consumers. Consumers will have to invest 5 percent in improved stoves and about 14 percent in household biogas. It is said that the Alternative Energy Promotion Center is working in coordination with 150 local levels across the country.
