Home Minister Sudhan Gurung held a high-level discussion with Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) on Wednesday. It is assumed that this ongoing discussion in the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers is focused on the issues of security and good governance. According to Minister Gurung's secretariat, the two leaders have been discussing for about 20 minutes. Although the detailed content of the discussion has not been revealed, a close aide of Minister Gurung said that its main emphasis is on strengthening the peace and security of the country and maintaining good governance.
Earlier on Tuesday, Home Minister Gurung held a five-hour-long meeting with top officials of the security agencies, including the Inspector General of Nepal Police, the Home Secretary, and the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu. Meanwhile, Minister Gurung is being criticized after his partnership with middleman businessman Deepak Bhatt and the fact that he has a share in the company he is involved in has become public. In such a perspective, this discussion with the Prime Minister is viewed with more importance.
