After failing the exam, the headmaster was blackmailed

Four people have been arrested for abusing the principal of a public school in Baitadi. The police arrested them on the charge of insulting Damodar Ojha, the headmaster of Pipalkot Secondary School located in Shivnath Rural Municipality-4, by smearing black paint on them in public. Those arrested are 38-year-old Tara Mahata, her husband Prem Mahata, Mohan Mahata and Shakuntala Mahata. According to Sudurpaschim Province Police Chief DIG Om Bahadur Rana, the police team deployed from the area police office Melauli arrested them from their home on Friday afternoon.

According to the police, those arrested have been kept in the custody of the district police office for investigation. DIG Rana has informed that the incident is being further investigated and necessary action will be taken as per law. Tara Mahata gave the exam for the post of teacher in Pipalkot Secondary School. The victim alleges that the Mahata family became angry after he failed in the first stage of the examination. After that, headmaster Ojha has been accused of being blackballed, garlanded with shoes and publicly humiliated.

The incident came into the limelight after a picture with a pamphlet saying 'I am a criminal' hanging around the neck of Ojha was published on social media. After the picture went viral, the police showed interest in the incident and arrested the people said to be involved.
