A new levy of 3 percent on private education and healthcare

Kathmandu, May 17. The government has made arrangements to levy a new 'parity fee' of 3-3 percent on services taken from private schools, colleges, universities and health institutions. According to the new policy, students studying in private educational institutions will have to pay an additional 3 percent 'Education Equality Fee' on the service fee, while patients receiving services from private hospitals, clinics and other health institutions will have to pay 'Health Equality Fee'.

The government has said that these fees will be implemented from 1st July 2083. With the new system, the cost of private education and health services will increase and it will have a direct impact on students, parents and patients.
